Animals on railway disrupt trains on Wrexham–Bidston line

Transport for Wales says all lines are blocked between Bidston and Wrexham Central after animals were reported on the railway.

A statement on the Transport for Wales website states: Due to animals on the railway between Bidston and Wrexham Central all lines are blocked.

Train services running to and from these stations will be cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes. Disruption is expected until 2pm (Friday 5th December).

The operator says: “We have been made aware of animals on the railway at Pennyffordd between Wrexham Central and Bidston, For safety trains are currently unable to run through the area until the animals are clear of the line.

The statement adds: We expect the incident to be cleared by 14:00. Train services will be cancelled or delayed in the area until approximately 14:30. Please continue to travel as planned, but expect delays and cancellations on your journey.

TfW says more information will be published once Network Rail technicians provide an update, adding: We apologise for the disruption caused to your journey.
