Man airlifted to hospital after falling from a bridge onto the A55 near Brynford

The A55 from Junction 31 eastbound and Junction 32 has reopened in both directions following the earlier police incident.

Police say they were called at 8.46am to reports that a man had fallen off a bridge at Brynford onto the eastbound carriageway of the A55.

The road was closed in both directions as police, paramedics, and two air ambulances attended the scene.

The man was airlifted to the Royal Stoke University Hospital with serious injuries at around 10.30am.

Wales Ambulance Service spokesman said;

“We were called at approximately 8.50am this morning to reports of an incident on the A55 eastbound between Caerwys and Holywell.

Two Wales Air Ambulances, a crew in an emergency ambulance and a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle attended and a man was airlifted to the Royal Stoke University Hospital with serious injuries.”
