£20,000 grant launched to support Repair Cafés in North Wales

Enfinium, the operator of the Parc Adfer energy recovery facility in Deeside, has launched the third year of its Repair Café Support Fund, offering £20,000 in new grant funding for community repair projects across North Wales.
Repair Cafés across North Wales are eligible to apply, with grants of up to £1,500 available to support their operations, volunteer training, and outreach.
The initiative, first launched in March 2024, has so far provided over £9,300 in funding to North Wales Repair Cafés across ten grants.
In 2025, more than £3,800 was awarded to four local groups: the Colwyn Bay Repair Café in Denbighshire, the Refurbs Buckley Repair Café in Flintshire, the Wrecsam Repair Café in Wrexham, and the Mold Daniel Owen Repair Café in Mold.
Enfinium says the scheme supports the circular economy by helping communities repair rather than replace broken items, reducing waste and landfill use.
Mike Maudsley, CEO at enfinium, said:
“By empowering communities to repair rather than replace, Repair Cafés play an important role in reducing waste and advancing the circular economy from the bottom up, as well as forming an integral part of the local communities where we operate. As an operator committed to managing unrecyclable waste in the most circular way possible, we at enfinium are proud to continue to support these impactful local initiatives keep waste out of landfill for another year.”
Georgia Colman, Volunteer at Colwyn Bay Repair Café, said:
“Enfinium’s Repair Café Support Fund has allowed us to strengthen our volunteer team, improve our repair set up and raise awareness across Colwyn Bay. This serves to help local people build confidence in making their own repairs and promote a strong and lasting ‘fix it first’ culture in the community.”
Repair Cafés within Flintshire, Conwy, Denbighshire, Gwynedd and Anglesey can apply for the 2026 funding round.
Applications are open until 31 May 2026.
