Residents can question HyNet project team at Hawarden event this Wednesday

Residents in Flintshire can meet the team behind the HyNet CO2 pipeline at a public drop-in event in Hawarden this week, with construction work already under way across parts of the county.
Liverpool Bay CCS Limited, the company building the pipeline, is holding a community information event at the Hawarden Masonic Hall on Wednesday, 22 April between 4pm and 7pm.
The event gives residents a chance to speak directly with the project team about construction activity in their area.
Pipeline work in Flintshire began in August 2025, with activity reported around Mancot and on Chester Road East as part of the wider HyNet network being built across north Wales and the North West of England.
HyNet is designed to capture CO2 from heavy industry and store it underground beneath the Irish Sea, while also producing and distributing low-carbon hydrogen for factories and transport.
The pipeline route runs through Flintshire as it heads from Cheshire toward the Irish Sea storage site, and Flintshire County Council is required to consult the pipeline developers on planning applications that could affect the safeguarded route.
The Hawarden Masonic Hall is at Deeside, CH5 3HE.
For residents who cannot attend on 22 April, the next Flintshire event is on Wednesday, 17 June 2026 at the Ewloe Sports and Social Club, 85 Old Mold Road, Deeside, CH5 3AX, also between 4pm and 7pm.
