All lanes back open following earlier crash on the A494 at Aston Hill

Update: All lanes are back open and traffic has largely cleared.

Latest travel report states –

Queueing traffic due to earlier accident on A494 Aston Hill Northbound between B5125 (Buckley Turn Off, Ewloe) and Aston Road (Aston / Higher Shotton Turn Off, Aston). Congestion to A55 J32A (Pentre Halkyn).

The A494 back to New Brighton is busy as well as Hollywell Road approaching the A494. Travel time is 1 hour 30 minutes. All lanes have been re-opened. Lane two (Of two) was closed. Emergency services are on scene. This is affecting traffic on the A55

 

 

Traffic Wales have said: “A494 Aston Hill to A55 J33 Eastbound Lane two is closed due to collision. Long delays in the area. Emergency services are on scene. Avoid area if possible.”

Latest traffic report for the area states: “One lane closed and queueing traffic due to accident on A494 Aston Road Northbound from B5125 (Buckley Turn Off, Ewloe) to Aston Road (Aston / Higher Shotton Turn Off, Aston). Lane two (Of two) is closed.”

Earlier report: There are reports of around five miles of queuing traffic along the eastbound A494 from Aston Hill back to the A55 in Northop following a collision.

Alex has been in touch to say: “Crash on Aston Hill heading towards queensferry just before Asda turn off. 3 cars involved and traffic building.”

North wales Police have said: “Please be advised, the Aston Hill is moving slowly eastbound due to an RTC. Officers currently in attendance.

Traffic Wales said earlier: “A55 J31 to A494 Queensferry – Poor driving conditions in both directions. Fog can be patchy – don’t speed up suddenly, even if it seems to be clearing. Drive Carefully.”

Current delays are quoted at 25 minutes.
