Update: Police confirm a man was struck and killed by a train in Shotton

Update: 

British Transport Police confirmed on Monday that a man had been struck and killed  by a train just outside of Shotton  a spokesman said:

“BTP officers were called to the line close to Shotton Rail Station on Saturday after a report that a person had been struck by a train.

“Officers from BTP and North Wales Police attended the incident, which was reported to police at 11.04pm and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.

A report on Arriva Wales website has stated ‘Owing to a person hit by a train between Shotton and Chester all lines are blocked’ the report was posted at 23:35 Saturday 23rd November.

Around the same time the report was posted on Arriva trains website a Police helicopter was hovering above Shotton with the high powered light shining in a specific spot not far from the train station, though this could be unrelated.

By 01:30 the original message had been cleared from the Arriva Trains Website.
