Flintshire roadworks: Mancot streets closed and thirteen new schemes beginning this week

Three streets in Mancot are closed this week as Wales and West Utilities carries out gas works across the village.

Ash Lane, Banks Road, and Scots Road are all subject to full road closures, with three-way temporary traffic lights also in place on The Nook.

The works started on 6 April and are scheduled to run until Friday 17 April.

Wales and West Utilities has more roadworks running across Flintshire than any other contractor in the latest bulletin published by Flintshire County Council.

Eleven separate entries in the bulletin are attributed to the gas network operator, with schemes stretching from Bagillt in the north to Buckley in the south.

Thirteen new roadworks schemes are due to start across Flintshire on Monday.

Among them are three-way temporary traffic lights on Holway Road in Holywell, a Wales and West Utilities gas works scheme running until 8 May.

Cornist Road in Flint also gets three-way lights for Wales and West gas works from Monday until 24 April.

Telecoms works on Mold Road in Connah’s Quay will bring three-way temporary lights from Monday until 17 April.

BT works in Penyffordd will place temporary traffic lights on both Hawarden Road and Corwen Road on Monday and Tuesday.

Flintshire County Council’s highways team is carrying out maintenance on the A541 at Llong from Monday until Friday, with three-way temporary lights in place.

Liverpool Road in Buckley will have three-way lights from Monday until 17 April for street lighting works.

Chester Road in Sandycroft will have four-way temporary traffic lights from Wednesday 15 April until Friday 17 April, with the works scheduled overnight.

Emergency water works on Tir Y Fron Lane in Mold, carried out by Hafren Dyfrdwy, remain in place until Wednesday 15 April.

The Highway in Hawarden has four-way temporary traffic lights from Sunday 12 April for construction and development work, running until 26 April.

Other ongoing schemes include a Hafren Dyfrdwy water works closure on Old Hope Road at its junction with the A5104 in Penymynydd, running until 5 May, and three-way temporary traffic lights on Bagillt Road in Bagillt for Wales and West Utilities gas works, running until 18 May.

Chester Road West in Shotton has been on four-way temporary traffic lights since February as part of active travel improvement works on the B5129, with the scheme running until September 2026.

Factory Pool Lane in Mold has been under a full road closure since September 2025 for construction and development work by Anwyl Construction, with a scheduled end date of March 2027.

Drury Lane in Drury, near Buckley, remains closed for gas works by Wales and West Utilities until 15 May.

Longstanding roadworks in Shotton and Ewloe roundabout continue.
