Ewloe primary school children to investigate the ‘Lost Worlds’ with designer Cefyn Burgess
Children from Ewloe Green Primary School, Hawarden Village Church School and Penarlag CP School in Ewloe will be wearing their explorer hats and investigating ‘Lost Worlds’.
Through funding from the Arts Council of Wales and Flintshire County Council, pupils will be working alongside professional textile artist, Cefyn Burgess, to create artwork based on the theme of ‘Byd Coll… Lost Worlds’.
The Schools Artist in Residence programme will culminate in an exhibition at Clwyd Theatr Cymru between Tuesday 10 March and Tuesday 7 April, 2015 with artwork by Cefyn and the school pupils.
Councillor Chris Bithell, Cabinet Member for Education, said:
“This is a wonderful opportunity for pupils and teachers to work alongside a professional artist in developing their creative skills, and I am sure the experience will be enjoyed by all. I look forward to seeing the work that is created through this project. The arts provide access to learning in a rich and creative environment and provide long lasting memories.”
