Dazzlin Doran bags Prizefighter Middleweight title in Blackpool.

Connah’s Quay boxer Tom Doran put in the shift of a lifetime in Blackpool on Saturday night to land prizefighter glory
Doran faced Peterborough’s Cello Renda a Prizefighter finalist four years ago at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens in the three round middleweight contest.
Carrying his unbeaten run into the ring 27 year old Doran struggled to get to grips with the relentless Renda who took the first round, Doran levelled the things up with an impressive second round rally.
Doran got off to a flyer in the in the third round Renda couldn’t respond stumbling face first into the ropes after taking a massive left hook flush on the chin from Doran.
The dazed Peterborough man made the count but the ref rightly waved the fight off to the delight of a noisy Connah’s Quay following.
Doran walks away from Blackpool £34,000 richer, a great reward following three years away from the ring which he returned to only in May last year.
Doran told Sky Sports:
“I like proving people wrong, and I think I’ve done that. Onwards and upwards now, I’m putting the inactivity behind me and looking to the future.”
“Cello’s a massive puncher and you’ve got to take that into account. I got the first (round) out of the way and picked it up from there.”
