Stats: Police Use Of Firearms in North Wales

Figures published by the Home Office today show how many times firearms have been used by officers from North Wales Police.

The number of police operations in north Wales which were authorised to use firearms in 2013 fell by almost 40% from 186 in 2012 to 113 in 2013 ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

The number of incidents across the whole of England and Wales where a conventional firearm was discharged by the police in 2013 was 3 (three) down from 5 the previous year. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​

The number of authorised firearms officers (AFO’s) in North Wales Police force in 2013 was 72 – 8 less than 2012. ‌​‌‌‌​‌‌‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​‍‌​‌‌‌​‌​
