The Range set to open new superstore in Deeside creating 83 new jobs

The homeware giant is looking to open a new Deeside store.

UPDATE: Range have now confirmed they will move into the recently vacated B&Q unit on Deeside retail park.

Though unconfirmed by the company themselves, recruitment adverts are being placed locally as they look to fill 83 positions.

The Range is one of the UK’s fastest growing retail businesses with over 100 stores, each with 16 departments including; DIY, Homewares, Furniture, Lighting, Arts & Crafts and Garden.

The new store is expected to take up occupancy of the now vacant 52,000 sq ft B&Q unit on Deeside Retail Park, job adverts placed with Job Centre Plus say the company is looking to open its doors to the public in late March.

According to one recruitment advert The Range are looking for Sales Assistants, Supervisors, Warehouse Assistants, an Office Assistant, Cleaning Assistants, Security and Managerial Roles.

Those interested in a position are asked to send a CV to: Flintshire.recruitment@dwp.gsi.gov.uk with interviews taking place on 16th and 17th February at Deeside Enterprise Centre, Rowley’s Drive.

Originally CDS Superstores, The Range originated in the markets of the Southwest and was founded by Plymouth-based entrepreneur Chris Dawson.

Dawson started business in 1980 as an open air market trader, his first superstore opened in Plymouth in 1989 the billionaire owner has lofty ambitions to open 1,000 stores across Europe.

Deeside will be the company’s seventh store in Wales.

So far the only line company from the company’s HQ on a Deeside store opening is: “We are yet to have confirmation of a store due to open in this area. However please check back for future updates!”

However this advert (below) is doing the ’rounds’ on Facebook and job specific adverts are also being placed by The Range on the Job Centre Plus Universal Jobs Match website – (link)


The Range are opening a new store in Deeside on March 25th 2016 The store will be looking to recruit around 83 permanent staff into full and part time positions.

There are a variety of positions available including:

• Sales Assistants( includes Checkout Operators and Customer Service Roles )
• Supervisors
• Warehouse Assistants (FLT licenses advantageous)
• Office Assistant
• Cleaning Assistants
• Security
• Managerial Roles

Shops are open from 9am – 8pm Monday to Saturday and 10.30am – 4.30pm on a Sunday; they need staff who are flexible about the shifts that they can work. Previous experience is not essential, if you can demonstrate that you are enthusiastic and willing to learn. It is also important that you are an excellent communicator, with attention to detail and ready to work in a busy, fast-paced environment – you’ll be taught the rest.
