Shotton: 20 year old women sustains serious head injury during an assault.

A 27 year  old woman from Merseyside arrested on suspicion of assault  following an incident in  Shotton last night has been released on bail pending further investigation.

A 20 year old woman sustained  a serious head injury, which is not  believed to be life threatening , after being assaulted in Health Street Shotton at around 7.20pm on  Wednesday  September 17.
The victim is being treated in hospital. 

DI Tim Evans said;  

“ I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have information which may assist the police to  call on 101 quoting  incident number R147301.”

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said:

“We were called at 7.21pm last night, Wednesday 17 September, to reports a woman had been assaulted on Health Street in Shotton. A paramedic in a rapid response car attended, and a woman in her 20s was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital.”

A friend of the young women who was attacked said on a Facebook post, she had been at the Countess of Chester Hospital all night with her friend and its believed she sustained a fractured skull in the attack, she was later transferred from Chester to Walton hospital.
