‘Ring of Steel’ – Police operation in Saltney yesterday targeted vehicles coming in and out of the town

Police from South Flintshire police team carried out an operation in Saltney on Wednesday arresting one person for alleged positive drug driving and finding a ‘suspicious’ male who they say was part of an organised crime group.

Officers surrounded the area and targeted vehicles coming in and out of the town in an operation named ‘Ring of steel’

A spokesperson for South Flintshire police team said;

‘The following offences were dealt with 1 person was arrested for positive drug driving, no insurance, 2 speeding offences, 1 section 5 public order and 2 searches for possession of drugs.

Also whilst officers were buying their lunch in Morrison’s they were approached by a member of staff who were suspicious of a male collecting for a charity.

This male was part of an organised crime group from Lancashire who was up to no good. Charity bucket seized and further enquires to be completed.’
