Youngster taken to hospital with minor injuries following a collision with a car in Shotton

A young girl has been taken to hospital with minor injuries following a collision in Shotton this afternoon.

The incident happened just before 2.30pm, one person close by said they saw three police cars and an ambulance near Iceland Food Store.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police confirmed they were called to the Chester Road West, Shotton, at 2:27pm.

The spokesperson added that a ‘wing mirror of car collided with child who was checked over by paramedics’ and that the vehicle involved stopped at the scene.

An emergency ambulance was also called to the incident.

A Welsh Ambulance Service Spokesman said;

“We were called at shortly before 2.30pm to reports a child had been injured following a collision involving a car on Chester Road West, Shotton.

“A young girl has been taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”
