Police are asking for people to check their dash cam and CCTV footage and see if they caught anything that may be able to assist with a robbery investigation.

A woman was punched outside her house in Bagillt as she sorted out recycling, the thief then made of with the contents of her purse.

The robbery happened at a house in Cwrt Maes Goch at around 8.50am on Monday – the house is just of High Street in Bagillt.

The woman was putting items in her recycling bin when a teenage boy, aged about 16, approached her from behind , punched her and demanded money.

The robber who police say had a ‘Birmingham accent’  followed the woman into her back garden where he noticed her purse on the kitchen table.

She handed him the contents of the purse before he made off through the back garden.

The suspect was wearing a grey hoody top, black or grey tracksuit pants, black trainers and a black base-ball cap.

The victim was not hurt, but she was extremely shaken and upset by her ordeal.
