A convenience store in Drury had £80 worth of counterfeit notes passed over the counter on Tuesday August 26th.

Three males with Irish accents attended the store and used the notes to purchase goods.

They are described as, one male with fair hair and wore no shirt and another male who was of average build and short dark hair.

A local gardening store in Buckley also reported on Sunday 24th August, they had £140 in counterfeit £20 notes used in its shop.

Again men with Irish accents had attended the store and purchased items with the notes.

These offenders appear to purchase items of low value using the £20 notes to get maximum change.

Police are urging all shops and stores in the Flintshire area to use currency marker pens or lights to help to check if notes are genuine.
