A substantial amount of class A drugs was seized yesterday (June 11) when Flintshire CID officers executed a warrant in Flint.

The intelligence- led operation in Prince of Wales Avenue at around 10.30 am recovered a large quantity of what is believed to be ecstasy tablets destined to be sold locally.

A 33 year old man was arrested at the location on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs. He has been interviewed and bailed pending further inquiries.

Detective Inspector Tim Evans said;

“North Wales Police will continue our efforts under ‘Operation Scorpion’ to tackle serious and organised crime in our communities.

“The thousands of tablets seized were destined to be sold locally. This in turn has an impact upon crime committed in the area as drug users seek ways to fund the purchase of such illicit drugs.

“I would encourage anyone with information to call police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
