Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery in Hoole.

Shortly after 9.30pm on Tuesday 9 September, a man entered the Co-Op on Walker Street armed with a knife.

He threatened two members of staff and demanded money from the till before grabbing a stand containing scratch cards and fleeing the store.

The offender is described as being of medium build and height. He was wearing a dark hooded top which was pulled up over his head, blue jeans, dark coloured shoes and red gloves. He had a face covering and was wearing sunglasses.

DC Gary Morris said: “Fortunately no one was injured as a result of this incident but the staff were left shaken by their ordeal.

“We are appealing for witnesses to come forward who may have been in the area at this time and may have witnessed the incident or have information that may help with our enquiries.

“We are particularly interested in information relating to anyone selling scratch cards.”

Anyone with any information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 884 of 9 September 2014.
