Officers from South Flintshire policing team say they have arrested a man they had been seeking over the past few weeks.

Leigh May had been wanted by police in connection with a number of alleged offences and officers believed he was still in the Deeside area.

Police confirmed he had been taken into custody following a chase which they describe as being like a scene from the film “Hot Fuzz” – the action comedy starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.

In an update on social media on Friday a spokesperson for South Flintshire Police team said:

“Last week we posted a picture of Leigh May from Saltney who was wanted for offences.

A big thanks to all the calls that we received regarding his whereabouts but tonight I can tell you he was found and arrested in Saltney earlier.

Apparently it was like a scene from the film “Hot Fuzz” garden fences being jumped but the arrest was made.”
