Consultants will look at the Deeside corridor, the A55 the A494 and the A458, where traffic is regulary held up due to minor accidents and sheer volume on cars, coaches and HGV’s travelling into Wales.

Last year members of the Deeside enterprise forum called for improved transport links which are seen as crucial to the regions future prosperity in the face of tough competition.

In 2007 the Welsh Government as part of the “Transport Strategy For Wales” proposed wide spread development of the transport system around Deeside and A55, which included an 11 lane ‘super highway’ running through the region.

This video by John Butler (below) from January 2007 documents the fears of local residents in the wake of the transport proposals back in 2007.

We have contacted the Minsters office fore more details.
