Following the tidal surge which occurred on 5 December and resulting damage to the embankment upon which the Path runs, several sections of the Wales Coast Path between Flint and Mostyn in Flintshire are closed until further notice.

The extreme conditions affected much of the coast and river Dee between Chester and Bangor.

However, other than where shown on the attached map, the Path is open throughout.

In places, sea defences have been displaced and path surfaces and infrastructure have been damaged. Please follow any on site directions and take care.

Meanwhile The Environment agency published new flood risk maps yesterday, they show parts of Deeside are at a high risk of surface water flooding.

Surface water flooding happens when rainwater does not drain away through the normal drainage systems or soak into the ground, but lies on or flows over the ground instead.

The shading on the map shows the risk of flooding from surface water in this particular area.
