Chester Road West: 16 weeks of roadworks to start Monday 20th January

One of the most congested parts of Flintshire is about to get a little worse.

Chester Road West  the B5129 ‘Deeside Corridor’ from Asda Queensferry through to Wepre Drive in Connah`s Quay is to undergo 16 weeks of traffic light maintenance.

The works which starts on Monday 20th January are to improve, upgrade and synchronise the seven sets of traffic signals along the route.

The work will be carried out in small sections to minimise any potential disruptions. 

Neal Cockerton, Head of Assets and Transportation for Flintshire County Council said:

“The works are to improve, upgrade and synchronise all the traffic signals between Asda, and Wepre Drive to reduce traffic congestion and are being funded by Welsh Government. 

“The works will be carried out in short sections along the route to minimise any disruptions.

“Delays are expected and Flintshire County Council apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
