To celebrate Care Week 2019, Flintshire County Council is hosting a series of drop-in sessions and a Roadshow between 9 and 12 September to highlight the wide range of work opportunities in Adult Social Care across the county.

This could be from working to support people in their own homes or in a residential home, becoming a ‘Shared Lives’ carer or starting your own business because you have spotted a need in your community that you can fill.

Staff will be available to offer advice and information about what it is like to work in the social care sector and the different types of jobs and vacancies available.

‘Communities for Work’ will also have information about their ‘Pathway in to Social Care’ course, which provides the training you need to get started.

The week will culminate in a Roadshow at Holywell Leisure Centre on 12 September where there will be a variety of stands with information about the care sector and employment opportunities.

Cllr. Chris Jones, Cabinet Member for social Services said;

“A career in care is possibly the most rewarding job you’ll ever have and the drop-in events and Roadshow are an ideal opportunity to meet with experienced professional carers who will provide an insight into working in the care sector.

There will also be an opportunity to find out more about an exciting project that will support the development of small businesses to meet the social care needs of people living in communities in Flintshire.  We look forward to seeing you there.”
