Entrepreneurs Wales 2013 – The big debate! Have your say on entrepreneurship in your local region.

Building on the success of the ‘Entrepreneurs Wales 2012’ conference, the Welsh Government will be running a series of evening events across Wales.  The theme is ‘making Wales a more entrepreneur centric place to do business’ and will start from 5pm at the following venues:

  • Glyndwr University, Wrexham – Thursday 14th November (5pm – 9.30pm)

Keynote Address –  Dr Paul Thomas, Director of DNA Definitive and BBC Wales “Business Doctor”
Business Leader Panel Members – Mr Andrew Peters, Divisional Director of Siemens Drives Technologies; and Mr Alan Bristow, CEO Icon Corporate Finance.
Entrepreneur Panel Members – Mr Sid Madge, Marketing & Creative Director Scant Bands UK; Mr Askar Sheibani, CEO Comtek Network Systems (UK) Ltd; and Ms Tracey Thomas, Founder This Lady Loves.

  • Bangor University – Tuesday 19th November (5pm – 9.30pm)

Keynote Address and Business Leaders – Ms Julie Meyer CEO Ariadne Capital and founder of Entrepreneur Country; Mr Kingsley Aikins, CEO Diaspora Matters.
Business Leader Panel Members – Mr Andrew Peters, Divisional Director of Siemens Drives Technologies.
Entrepreneur Panel Members – Mr Paul Sandham, CEO Geosho; and Dr Carol Michael, Director – Phytorigins; David Lea-Wilson, Founder and Owner of The Anglesey Sea Salt Company Ltd.

  • Swansea University – Wednesday 27th November (5pm – 9.30pm)

Keynote Address and Business Leaders – Elizabeth Varley, co-founder and CEO of TechHub; and Andrew Grill, IBM Partner Social Business.
Business Leader Panel Members – Mr Nick Waters, CFO GKN Aerospace.
Entrepreneur Panel Members – Tim Morgan, co-founder Mint Digital; Matt Warren, CEO Jurra Watches; and Mr Paul Ragan, Chairman Cardiff Devils Ice Hockey.

  • University of South Wales, Newport – Wednesday 4th December (5pm – 9.30pm)

Keynote Address and Business Leaders – David Murray-Hundley, Founder Adaro Red & co-founder Pario Ventures, Andrew Grill, IBM Partner Social Business.
Business Leader Panel Members – Mr Alan Bristow, CEO Icon Corporate Finance.
Entrepreneur Panel Members – Ms Stephanie Murdoch, MD Comparison Creator; Mr Simon Powell, CEO Eysys; and Mr Warren Fauvel, CEO & Founder 5aWK.

 

Each session will be hosted by Sarah Dickins, BBC Wales Economic Correspondent and include a keynote address from a high profile speaker, networking opportunities and a topical panel discussion. There will also be an opportunity for delegates to discuss and debate a range of key questions that are important to the success of Welsh entrepreneurs, and outline potential solutions and actions to improve the environment for entrepreneurs in Wales.  The topics for discussion will include: 

  • Finance and funding
  • Engaging with big business: David dancing with Goliath
  • Engaging with Higher Education: Leveraging knowledge, resources and collaboration
  • Entrepreneurs supporting entrepreneurs: Connecting non-resident Welsh entrepreneurs with Wales
