After a couple of seasons out, last seasons tough guy Costelloe has returned to the Dragons to add some muscle to Coach Ste Fellows roster, who is glad to welcoming the big guy back.

“Dave was defensively one of our best D-men last season, we know he’ll always pick up his fair share of penalty minutes but when he was out on the ice he was solid for us, and with the strength of the league this year he’ll be as important to us this season”.

As well as Costelloe coach Fellows has signed Matty Compton, he made his senior debut at 16 for the then Flintshire Freeze, coming through the junior system at Deeside, he has had successful spells at Blackburn with the Hawks before moving to the Elite League as a backup keeper for the Manchester Pheonix.

Compton returned to Deeside where he’s remained Dragons the No1 choice netminder.

“Marty is a great guy to have in the dressing room and between the pipes, he brings lots of experience which any young netminder coming into the team will only benefit ham, with both Malay and Ed, we have a strong pair of netminders”.

The Dragons have also re-signed long serving forward Pete Founds, with over 200 appearances to his name he has amassed in excess of 350 points in senior hockey.

“Pete was an import guy last season and was our outstanding player in at least 3 games, he’s been one of Deeside’s greatest ever home grown players and will bring a huge amount of experience to the team.” said Fellows.

Meanwhile the fixtures have been published the forth coming season, the Dragons travel to Hull Stringrays for the 13/14 season opener on the 7th September, followed by a home game on the next day against new boys  Widnes Wild.
