Alyn and Deeside AM Carl Sargeant is on a mission to recruit every council in North Wales as a corporate supporter of the international White Ribbon campaign and following initial positive feedback, extended his drive to local businesses.

Last month, Mr Sargeant wrote to more than a dozen companies in his constituency asking them to pledge their support to the international campaign and help Wales become a world leader in ending domestic violence and abuse.

He said:

“I am already receiving some positive responses from companies and organisations, including Coleg Cambria and E.ON, who run Connah’s Quay power station.

“It’s great that local businesses are willing to support such an important campaign and they have been sent the relevant information by my office.

“It’s a fantastic follow-on from the extremely successful campaign to gain corporate support from local authorities and I look forward to receiving more positive replies.”
