Join the Deeside Ramblers on one of their walks in March, with Spring in the air its a perfect way to get out and enjoy the region.

According to a recent report produced by the University of East Anglia, walking with groups cuts the risk of life threatening conditions.

The study led by Sarah Hanson and Prof Andy Jones showed that joining a walking group is one of the best and easiest ways to boost overall health. Their research showed that people walking in a group walk faster and further than they would normally walk

By joining a group such as Deeside Ramblers, people can improve their fitness, make new friends as well as exploring different areas of the countryside.

Deeside Ramblers organise a variety of walks throughout the year as well as social events, coach rambles and walking holidays.

Walks planned for March include the following:

  • 10am, Sunday 8 March, Moel Fenlli, Cwm Blaenant etc, meeting at layby on A494 near Clwyd Gate Inn (9 miles)
  • 10am, Saturday 21 March, Overton Meander, meeting at Church Road car park (9 miles)
  • 9.45am, Tuesday 24 March, Alyn Waters, Wrexham (picnic lunch), meeting at Hawarden Railway Station (4 miles)

As a registered charity, the Ramblers operates both on a local and national level and aims to encourage walking, protect and maintain rights of way, increase access to open countryside and the coast and to defend the beauty of the countryside.
