It may be winter but Deeside Ramblers keep on walking whatever the weather.

In the November/December programme there is a good variety of walks with distances from 5 to 10 miles with one offering an optional pub lunch.

Deeside Ramblers also organise a number of social events through the year including meals out, talks, coach rambles and walking holidays.

In the latest research by the University of British Columbia in Canada, it was found that exercise could reverse the early stages of dementia.

Those following an exercise programme for an hour, three times a week saw an improvement in overall thinking skills.

A further advantage for those in the clinical trial was improved blood pressure and the ability walk further.
