Deeside based construction firm wins Garden City affordable homes contract

An award-winning Deeside based construction firm has been awarded the contract to build 21 affordable homes in Garden City.

Anwyl Construction have been chosen to build the new development of 21 single and two-bed apartments at Maes Helyg on land off Welsh Road in Garden city.

The Pennaf Housing Group along with Flintshire County Council and the Welsh Government appointed Anwyl who recently who recently moved to their new headquarters in Ewloe.

The £2.4 million development is being funded by Pennaf and supported by the Welsh Government Social Housing Grant.

Mr Tom Anwyl, Director of Anwyl said:

“We have already completed a number of prestigious schemes for Pennaf across the region and are also currently progressing well with work at Llys Raddington, the new extra care housing scheme in Flint.

“We’ll be starting on the new apartments at Maes Helyg in Welsh Road, Garden City, later this month for completion at the end of 2017. We have already placed orders with a number of local subcontractors and will be engaging with the local area.”

“We have already completed a number of prestigious schemes for Pennaf across the region and are also currently progressing well with work at Llys Raddington, the new extra care housing scheme in Flint.

“We’ll be starting on the new apartments at Maes Helyg in Welsh Road, Garden City, later this month (October) and they are due to be completed towards the end of next year.”

Once complete the new apartments will be managed by Clwyd Alyn Housing Association, part of the Pennaf Housing Group.
