Connah’s Quay Town Council and Flintshire County Council councillor’s have agreed to explore the possibility of transferring ownership of Connah’s Quay swimming pool in to local community ownership.

Representatives from both councils met on 7th January and agreed to explore jointly how Connah’s Quay Swimming Pool might potentially be transferred to the local community under the Council’s Community Asset Transfer Scheme.

It was agreed at the meeting a co-operative approach with both Council’s sports clubs and community groups being involved in the future gives the Pool the best chance of continuing to be an important local facility.

An open meeting has now be arranged to engage members of the public and local community groups in an effort to gauge the level of interest of individual groups in taking over the ownership of the pool.

The details of this meeting is on 27th January at 5.00p.m Civic Hall, Wepre Drive, Connah’s Quay
