Coleg Cambria shortlisted as ‘training partner of the year’ at Semta Award

Coleg Cambria has been recognised as among the best in British engineering and advanced manufacturing after being shortlisted in the inaugural Semta Skills awards. 

Semta-Awards-Logo-767x561The Semta Skills Awards celebrate the best of British engineering, recognising the achievements of talented people and inspiring businesses across the engineering and advanced manufacturing sector. 

Hundreds of nominations from across the UK for the seven categories have been shortlisted leaving 22 finalists contending for a top spot.

The College is a finalist in the Training Partner of the Year Category which recognises excellence and achievement by a training partner in supporting and delivering training programmes for employers.

The College’s strategic partnership with Airbus and its involvement in setting up the Deeside Enterprise Zone Group were highlighted in the award submission. 

Judges, led by category sponsors EAL, will also look at how the delivery of programmes is employer focused and the impact it has on performance and addressing additional needs of learners and the wider community.

The winners will be revealed this evening at a gala awards dinner in London’s Park Plaza, Riverbank hosted by TV presenter Michael Underwood with a keynote speech from Business Secretary the Rt Hon Dr Vince Cable.
