Sgt Daniel Greenhalgh of Neston Police unit said:

“The accident occurred at the junction of the A540 and Boathouse Lane and unfortunately proved fatal, with one male victim.

A coach driver is assisting Police with the investigation into how and why the collision occurred.

Traffic, during peak rush hour, was extremely heavy and many drivers had to wait in a queue for a significant period of time due to the road being closed at the Aldi Distribution centre on the A540 towards Boathouse Lane. Drivers are thanked for their patience following this tragic incident.”.

Anyone who witnessed the collision on the A540 at around 5pm on Wednesday 11th February are asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101
