Cheshire Phoenix will take on rivals Glasgow Rocks in their BBL championship match on Wednesday evening (7:30pm) at the DLC.

Head coach John Lavery’s men are vacating their usual Northgate Arena home for the night for their BBL regular season game against the Rocks, and it’s hoped a full house will turnout to cheer the Nix on and claim revenge over their Scottish rivals.

While its a one off for this season, the Nix are exploring the possibility of playing more matches at Deeside.

The team have enjoyed a successful season so far and are aiming to secure a top-five berth in the BBL and set themselves up with a favourable draw in the end of season play-offs.

Cheshire Phoenix chairman Andrew Donaldson told us:

“This is our first game at Deeside Leisure Centre and I would like to say at the outset how proud I am that we have been able to bring professional basketball across the border to Wales for the first time.”

“To have a quality facility on our doorstep that is able to offer us a temporary home as we deal with a bit of fixture congestion makes us particularly fortunate and I would like to thank Flintshire County Council for working to accommodate us into their schedule and hope that Welsh fans who come to see what we are all about enjoy the experience.”
