An exhibition of photographs marking 75 years of aerospace in Broughton moves to Gladstone’s Library in Hawarden this week.

The exhibition which has recently been on display at Blacon library moves onto Gladstone’s Library in Hawarden for three weeks from Monday as part of a regional tour.

Now the centre of wing production for the entire range of Airbus commercial aircraft, the first factory at Broughton officially opened in September 1939 and has built a range of classic aircraft including the Wellington, Comet and the HS-125 business jet.

Following the three week stop at Gladstone’s Library the exhibition will then move onto Broughton Community Centre from 16th March to 2nd April.

Kath Hayes, Community Relations Manager at Airbus said:

“This is such an exciting time for the Broughton Plant, celebrating this momentous 75th milestone. In addition to the many activities taking place for our employees we felt it was fitting to involve our community in this celebration, many of whom will remember the memories included in our photo exhibition”.

Airbus are also taking requests from public venues who would like to host the exhibition, anybody interested can contact them here: communityrelationsuk@airbus.com
