Asda are cutting the price of fuel again, from tomorrow you won’t pay more than 110.7ppl for unleaded or 117.7ppl on diesel they say.

This latest cut means Asda unleaded and diesel prices have fallen by 16ppl and 12ppl respectively since September 2014,  their lowest prices since October 2010.

Andy Peake, Asda Petrol Trading Director said,

“We’re giving drivers an early Christmas present as fuel prices continue to fall. Asda are leading the way with our eleventh price cut since September.

“We know our competitors are likely to follow our lead but Asda don’t have a postcode lottery on fuel meaning no matter where customers live, they will benefit from the same fuel price with our national price cap of 110.7ppl for unleaded and 117.7ppl for diesel”.

Here’s how Asda petrol prices have fallen over the past four months:

A new report by motoring organisation the RAC says they are optimistic that petrol could soon be selling for under £1 a litre as a result of the plummeting global oil price – a pump price last seen in late May 2009.’

The RAC said it was encouraged because the price of Brent crude has fallen below the $60 a barrel mark for the first time since early July 2009.

‘There is a very good chance forecourt prices will continue to fall as the price of a barrel of crude goes lower which the RAC is hopeful will lead to petrol being sold nationally for under £1 a litre in the first few months of the new year.’ the report says.
