At the controls of the A350 XWB MSN1 will be Thierry Bourges, Pilot and Jean-Christophe Lair, Co-pilot, weather permitting they plan to be over Broughton at 10:25 am today.

Didier Evrard, Head of the A350 XWB programme said:

“2013 has been a truly great year for the A350 XWB industrially and commercially. We have two A350s flying, the other three members of the flight test fleet are at different stages of final assembly and by the end of this month we will be at over 800 firm orders, one year prior to first delivery.”

“Since first flight on June 14th, we received numerous requests from the teams to bring the A350 XWB to the European sites. I am very happy that we are now able to make this site visit happen and aim to welcome the A350 XWB at our Spanish sites soon.” Mr. Evrard added. “This A350 XWB “flyby” is part of planned avionics flight testing.”

The flight over Broughton will consist of one “flyby” aiming to perform a low pass which requires the landing gear to be extended.

The flight will take off from Toulouse at 8h00am (local time), performing the first flyby at 08h55 at Nantes, and 09h25 at St Nazaire. In the UK, MSN1 will flyby Filton at 09h45 (local time) followed by Broughton at 10h25. The aircraft will then go to Germany, flying over Bremen at 14h15 (local time), Hamburg at 14h50 and Stade at 15h15 before returning to Toulouse for landing at 18h15. The schedule could slightly shift, pending on weather and air traffic conditions.
